Nestled on over 50 acres of the Perth Hills bush and well tucked away from street view lays The Lounge at Amaroo, which is Amaroo Retreat & Spa’s high-end restaurant and bar.

An award-winning menu, a stunning location, and an international Head Chef has helped secure our restaurant as one of the best in Perth. And when it comes to our food, there is just nothing better than local produce cooked to perfection!

Our menu

Dining at The Lounge at Amaroo is a treat for the senses. Our menu caters for differing tastes and dietary requirements, with gluten free and dairy free options, plus meals for vegetarian and vegan diners. Our menu is seasonal and relies upon locally grown produce. Best of all, everything we serve is amazingly delicious, and you will surely want to come back again and again to try the entire menu!

Our head chef

Our unique menu is inspired by our Head Chef Surendra Sooriyarathna. Originally from Sri Lanka, Surendra has an extensive cooking career that spans across the globe. He left Sri Lanka to start his international career in Melbourne, then moved on to Perth and travelled up the coast to Port Hedland. His desire to learn more about western and European cuisine saw him make the move to Germany, where he was employed by the Dorint Hotel Group in one of their Michelin Star restaurants.

The Lounge at Amaroo is thrilled to have Surendra in charge of our restaurant and are delighted with everything he creates. When dining with us, you will see his preferred cooking style of modern Australian with French finishes and a touch of Sri Lankan spice!

Our promise

It’s no secret that locally grown food tastes better, but there is also so many other benefits of using local produce in our menu.

Local produce is more nutritious; food loses moisture and nutrients during the transport process and risks becoming spoiled. Using locally grown food contributes to improving our carbon footprint by the fact there is less transportation required and therefore less emissions. And of course, it benefits the local economy, including supporting local farmers and other producers.

The Lounge at Amaroo are committed to providing the highest quality food and drinks on our menu so that our customers can be guaranteed they are always eating well when they visit our restaurant.

Planning a wedding is an exciting and beautiful time…but it can also be extremely stressful! With so many decisions to make and details to consider, it’s easy to become overwhelmed when planning your special day.

Amaroo Retreat & Spa Venue Manager Jordyn says a perfect wedding relies on attention to detail and great planning.

“A wedding can be the biggest event in a person’s life, and the last thing they want is for something to go wrong. Planning your wedding should be a fun time, but too often it can become a headache, which is why it’s a good idea to get a professional to help,” Jordyn said.

“Most couples will be planning their wedding while still going about their busy day to day lives, and sometimes it can all become too much. There are many important decisions to make, and it can be hard to find the right venue and all the right vendors for the big day, and of course trying to stick to your budget.”

“If you’ve never planned a wedding or big event before, it can be hard to arrange all the details to match the vision you have in your mind, and many will get overwhelmed and not enjoy the planning process,” she said.

Jordyn said one of the biggest factors when planning a wedding is the venue, and once this has been decided upon, everything else will fall into place.

Celebrate Christmas with a traditional feast!

The Festive season is getting closer and the team at The Lounge at Amaroo are feeling the excitement!

Food is our passion, and there’s no better way to celebrate any major occasion than with a scrumptious feast shared with friends and family.

Across the globe, families are planning their Christmas fare.

In England, for example, families will sit down to Christmas dinner of roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, braised red cabbage, and pureed parsnips, with classic English Trifle and Christmas plum pudding for dessert.

In Iceland the main meal, which they refer to as the ‘Yule meal’, is traditionally a leg of roast lamb; and in Sweden it’s baked ham that graces the table on Christmas day. In Russia, a special porridge or ‘Sochivo’ is served, which is made from wheat or rice and served with honey, fruit, nuts, and seeds.

Australians love to celebrate Christmas with a good meal, and while some might say it’s too hot for a roast at Christmas time, there’s just something magical about a traditional Christmas feast.

The Lounge at Amaroo have gone out of our way to design a special Christmas menu with plenty of options that will make everyone happy!

The Lounge at Amaroo is extremely excited to announce our special Christmas menu which will be available throughout December.

Our Christmas menu is jam packed full of seasonal goodness and has been created to give you more than a full belly! Your Christmas meal at The Lounge will bring back memories of childhood, and will be the start of new memories as you celebrate with us at our amazing venue!

Bring back memories with a Christmas menu that includes succulent roast turkey, traditional Christmas roasted vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, cranberry and turkey jus.

Be delighted to try something new and unique and tuck into a tantalising Seafood Tortellini with scallops, fish, and prawns. Dine on Morton Bay Bugs with chilli and lime in a white wine sauce; and Halloumi Salad with grilled with pumpkin, ginger, pomegranate, barley and rocket. And enjoy it all with an impeccable selection of wines and cocktails.
