He’s the one who is always there for you when you need him. He taught you to ride a bike, catch a ball, and do bombies into the swimming pool! He’s got the best – and the worst – jokes. He’s the loudest snorer in the family and he never could remember your friend’s names, but he was always there at every sports game, and even today, he keeps a baby photo of you in his wallet.
He’s your Dad and he deserves to be celebrated this Father’s Day!
What better way to say thanks to the Dad in your life than bringing him to The Lounge at Amaroo and spoiling him with a delicious meal! Here’s a few reasons why your Dad would love to be treated at The Lounge at Amaroo this Father’s Day.
Dad loves to eat!
If your dad has a good appetite and enjoys a good meal, The Lounge at Amaroo is sure to make him happy! Bring Dad out for lunch and let him indulge with our classic chilli garlic prawns, our famous beef burgers, or some tantalising fish tacos. Or bring the family out for dinner and let Dad enjoy a sensational sirloin or rib eye steak with potatoes and veg, our flamed grilled cajun chicken with bourbon barbecue glaze, or a nice light coconut curry with prawns. And of course, for dessert he has his choice of something chocolate or something fruity – or both! Whatever his tastes, he’s sure to find something he loves on our extensive menu!
Dad enjoys a drink
Nothing beats a lazy Sunday with a good meal, good company, and Dad’s favourite beverage! The Lounge at Amaroo has an extensive beer, wine, and cocktail menu, plus ciders, liqueurs, and spirits. Dad can choose a cold one from our beer selection or a light and fruity cider – we have pear, apple, strawberry, and lime or wildberry cider on offer. Our spirit selection includes more than 40 different choices of gin, vodka, rum, tequila, whisky, or bourbon. If Dad is more of a wine drinker, he will love of huge selection of wines from WA’s south-west and from some of the best wineries across Australia. And he can round his meal off with a cocktail made fresh from our exciting cocktail menu!
Dad always likes being in nature
Dads love the great outdoors, so this Father’s Day, why not get him out for a bush walk in the beautiful Perth hills! The Lounge at Amaroo is located within the grounds of Amaroo Retreat, a unique destination that is set within 52 acres of natural bush in Mount Helena. Bring Dad and the family and make a day of it! He can enjoy his meal overlooking the bush and will love spending time with the family and enjoying a relaxing walk through the bush.
Dad deserves to feel like the King for the day!
There’s nothing Dad loves more than being with his family, so let him have pride of place this Father’s Day at the head of the table! Let him feel like the King as he enjoys his special day being waited on by our friendly staff and all the while being surrounded by the people he loves most in the world. The Lounge at Amaroo can truly offer everything he needs for a very Happy Father’s Day!

It might seem completely out of character for a well-known restaurant to announce this…but The Lounge at Amaroo is supporting Dry July!
This doesn’t mean we have stopped serving alcohol, no chance. But it does mean that we are endorsing the Dry July message and encouraging others to consider the socialising without alcohol – even just temporarily!
What is Dry July
You may have heard about it but not really known what it is all about. Dry July is a fundraiser that encourages you to go alcohol-free in July to raise funds for people affected by cancer. Dry July has been running for many years and participants will agree to stop drinking alcohol for the month of July and get their family and friends to support them with donations, which then supports several different cancer-related foundations.
Why do we support Dry July
Aside from the fundraising aspect of Dry July, there are other reasons why we are getting behind a month without alcohol.
Having a month off alcohol has great health benefits, such as sleeping better, having more energy and of course, no hangovers. Your body has a chance to de-tox, and you may find that without alcohol, you feel fresher, healthier, and may lose weight.
It also gives us a chance to explore other options in our social life. So many activities are focused on drinking, so when you take the alcohol element out for a while, you are forced to try new things. And this can be the best change you have ever made! You may enjoy new social activities that you haven’t tried before, plus you’ll be able to focus your attention on other things when you’re out – and you may just find a new appreciation for different food!
Taste the food, not the drinks!
The Lounge at Amaroo is recognised as the best restaurant in the Perth Hills, and we are proud of our selection of fine wines, spirits, and cocktails we offer.
But we are even more proud of our food!
During Dry July, we encourage you to visit The Lounge at Amaroo and let your tastebuds explore all we have to offer on our extensive menu. Our menu covers all tastes and dietary requirements, and each dish is meticulously created to be a unique taste sensation. Experience the flavours of the food this Dry July.

With the dreary winter weather upon us, you can be forgiven for feeling a little gloomy and lacking the desire to go out and do anything. But this is the exact reason why you NEED to celebrate Christmas in July this year and lift your spirits this winter.
The Lounge at Amaroo have a special Christmas in July celebration planned this year, and we would love you to come along!
Why do we celebrate Christmas in July?
Christmas in July is not nearly as big as the December Christmas period, but it’s still a great excuse to celebrate! Christmas in July is becoming more popular in Australia as our population becomes more diverse. Australia has British and European heritage, and as such there is a strong attachment to the tradition of celebrating Christmas in cold weather.
July is generally the coldest month of winter in Australia and so it makes sense to have a second Christmas celebration to allow Australians to experience the northern hemisphere style Christmas. Cold weather, winter clothes, hearty foods, roast dinners, and warm drinks in front of fireplaces and bonfires, just like Christmas back home.
Australians have grown up singing Christmas carols about “dashing through the snow”, so why not get onboard with a winter Christmas and enjoy the experience!
A Christmas Feast!
The Lounge at Amaroo are taking Christmas in July celebrations to the next level with one of the most exciting menus on offer!
Our Christmas in July event is for one day only, and you’ll need to make your booking in advance so that you don’t miss out. You can choose from a 2-course or 3-course meal, and with so much on offer, you won’t be disappointed!
Start with a delectable entrée of whipped goat’s cheese with honey, pomegranate, and charred baguette; spicy grilled prawns with mango, fresh herbs and pistachios; or the heavenly sous vide beef, sliced and topped with mushrooms, almonds, and jus.
Your main course comes with four choices, and each selection has been carefully created to really give that festive experience.
If it’s a traditional roast you’re looking for, our rolled turkey breast comes stuffed with sage and onion, and is served with all the trimmings, plus Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Or there’s our herb-crusted rack of lamb which is served with truffle mash potato, greens, and mint and rosemary jus. Also on offer is pan-seared barramundi with cauliflower gratin, greens, and fresh herbs; or for a vegetarian choice we have ricotta gnocchi with pumpkin and burnt sage butter.
Top off your meal with a tantalising dessert! An Aussie Christmas favourite, our pavlova is served with fresh cream, berries, chocolate shavings and berry coulis. But if you’re going for the full winter Christmas experience, you can’t go past our traditional Christmas pudding with brandy anglaise and broken meringue. Our dessert menu also offers seasonal fruit with sorbet and spun sugar.
The Lounge at Amaroo has a dazzling selection of wines and spirits to accompany your meal, and our cocktail bar is open to really make your Christmas in July feast that little more spectacular!

The Lounge at Amaroo is one of Perth’s best kept secrets – but not for much longer!
People are starting to talk about the best restaurant in the Perth hills as more and more people are discovering the Lounge at Amaroo. And who better to sing our praises than the people who have experienced it for themselves!
We’ve spoken to some of our customers to get their feedback on why they think The Lounge at Amaroo is the best restaurant in the Perth hills.
The most romantic spot he could have chosen
Ella and Ryan are one of many happy couples who got engaged at The Lounge at Amaroo. Here’s Ella’s story:
“It was so romantic! Ryan had it planned for ages, he’d bought the ring and booked the restaurant and told me to dress up nice for something special. I’d never been here before, and Ryan chose this place because it’s just the perfect romantic setting. We had a table near a big window, and we were looking out over the bush while we had our dinner, and Ryan waited until we’d gotten our desserts before he got down on one knee and proposed! He’d even planned for staff to be taking videos and photos for us which was awesome!
Ryan and I are real outdoorsy people, so being at this amazing restaurant that’s hidden in the bush was perfect for us. Now I’m thinking of having our wedding here too! By far the most romantic night of my life!”
Peaceful and tranquil for a family lunch
Amanda recently booked a table at The Lounge at Amaroo for her mum’s 80th birthday celebrations. Amanda’s mum Carol hadn’t been well in the lead up to her big day, and Amanda wanted a place for lunch that was special enough for the big day, but that wasn’t too overwhelming.
“I am so glad we chose this restaurant; it was the best option for Mum’s birthday. We didn’t want to go into the city and deal with traffic and noise, but we wanted somewhere that had amazing food and the right atmosphere. The Lounge at Amaroo was just perfect.
Mum sat at the head of the table and was treated like royalty by the amazing staff, which is exactly what we wanted for her day. The food was perfection, we had some nice wines, and got to take in the views of the hills and the bush. Mum was a bit in awe of the restaurant, she agreed we picked the perfect place especially after we went for a bit of a walk around the grounds after our lunch. Thanks to all the staff who helped make Mum’s day amazing!”
Relaxing and romantic, a great spot to reconnect
Gavin recently brought his beautiful wife Erin to The Lounge at Amaroo not for any special occasion, but just to show her how much he appreciated her!
“We have a baby who is just six months old, and Erin hardly ever goes out and never gets any time without him, so I decided to do something special for her. Having a baby is hard on any couple and I thought it would be good to get her out of the house, leave the baby with my sister, and come out for a nice romantic dinner.
Erin thought it was great! She got to dress up nice and have a few hours without the baby so that we could just talk and have a proper date night. We chose The Lounge at Amaroo because we wanted somewhere that was relaxing, and because the menu looked awesome. The food was great, and the evening was perfect. So, if anyone is looking for the perfect restaurant for a romantic date night, this is it!”
